BARBARA TONER DEMAREST

GRANT ADMINISTRATION CHAIR
Why did you join Impact100 Garden State?
To join with like-minded women and support philanthropy in our local area. Pooling our collective giving allows us to support programs that otherwise might not ever get started.
What do you do in your role as Grant Administration Chair?
Our committee makes sure that our members’ funds are spent consistent with the project proposal voted by our membership. We also support the grantees and keep our members and broader community informed of the grantees’ successes.
What do you love about your role?
Getting to know our grantees in depth over their grant period, seeing the impact of their work, and appreciating the role our members had in making it happen!
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Impact100 Garden State?
It’s a fantastic chance to learn about the organizations making a difference in our area and to meet and build friendships with smart and kind women.
What is your professional and volunteer background?
I am retired from a career in systems development and project management in the financial services industry.
My volunteer work includes board service with Preschool Advantage, Lakeland Hills YMCA, Washington Association of NJ and Radio Catskill.
At Impact100 Garden State, I have participated in the Grant Review process for three years and have served as a Grantee Liaison and as Vice Chair of the Grant Administration Committee
I have a BA from Colgate University, an MA from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Finance from NYU.
