ASHLEY DANIELLE REY
Warren
GOVERNANCE CHAIR
Why did you join Impact100 Garden State?
I was introduced to Impact100 Garden State at a perfect time in my life. I had stepped off a local nonprofit board right before giving birth to my daughter. Focusing on my family for a couple of years, my son was six months old when I was ready to reconnect with my community involvement, while also hoping to meet some like-minded women. Impact was the perfect mix. It allows me to volunteer as I am able, learn about and support a variety of organizations serving our communities, and also provides me some "adult time" with phenomenal women.
What do you do in your role as Governance Chair?
As Governance Chair, I lead the Governance Committee, which is responsible for the functioning of the Leadership Team, including promoting ethical behavior, succession planning, strategic planning support, and our Guiding Principles.
What do you love about your role?
The Governance Committee is made up of current and former Leadership Team members. I love the opportunity to listen to and learn from their collective institutional knowledge, working together to ensure a bright future for the organization and our continued commitment to our communities.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Impact100 Garden State?
Do it! I am humbled every time I am at an Impact100 Garden State event when I look around the table at such diverse, intelligent, and kind women. It is also a great way to learn about the various needs of our communities and the organizations working to make change.
What is your professional and volunteer background?
I am a Certified Financial Plannerâ„¢ and Partner of Rey Financial Group, LLC. Our family helps our clients build, manage, protect, and transition their wealth, with a focus on women. My business partner (my sister) and I are proud Impact100 Garden State sponsors and members, committed to empowering women through connection to make change in our communities.
Outside the office, I am a former Chair and Treasurer of the New Jersey Audubon Society and still an active member, serving on a couple of their committees. In 2017, I also became a LeadNJ alumna. At Impact100 Garden State, I participated in the grant review process and am a Sponsorship Committee member. I volunteer with various organizations, including volunteer opportunities through Impact100, whenever my time allows.
I graduated from Vassar College with a BA in Economics.
