DAVENIE PEREIRA
Basking Ridge
VICE PRESIDENT
Why did you join Impact100 Garden State?
I have long been inspired by the premise that women, when joined together, can lift up communities in a powerful way. I found that Impact100 Garden State’s collective giving model harnesses this power by bringing talented, philanthropy-minded women together, to not only fund hugely meaningful grants to local nonprofits but to also enhance the personal growth of its members with opportunities to engage in a wide spectrum of volunteer and learning opportunities. I found this dual purpose attractive and a perfect fit for me.
What do you do in your role as Vice President?
I work to support the Leadership Team in the implementation of Impact100 Garden State’s mission of awarding grants and connecting women through its member events and volunteer committees.
What do you love about your role?
I love learning about the inspirational work of local nonprofits and getting to know all of our awesome members.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Impact100 Garden State?
By joining Impact100 Garden State, a woman can multiply the effect of her single donation and drive meaningful growth for the grant recipients in a way that can’t be as effectively achieved through a single, individual donation to a nonprofit. An additional bonus is that you become part of a community of philanthropy-minded women like yourself with the freedom to volunteer as much or as little as you’d like.
What is your professional and volunteer background?
I worked for 12 years in finance before retiring to raise my children full time. I have previously volunteered in various roles within other organizations, a few of which include PTO president/vice-president, and co-founder and chapter co-president of Together Women Rise, a collective giving circle. At Impact100 Garden State, my roles have included grant review co-chair, ambassador co-chair, and member of the membership and fellowship committees.
