BARBARA TONER DEMAREST

MEMBERSHIP STRATEGY CHAIR
Why did you join Impact100 Garden State?
To join with like-minded women and support philanthropy in our local area. Pooling our collective giving allows us to support programs that otherwise might not ever get started.
What do you do in your role as Membership Strategy Chair?
In this new role as Chair of Membership Strategy, I will be working with my colleagues in Membership Outreach and Membership Engagement to plan our approach to sustaining and building our Impact100 Garden State community of members.
What do you love about your role?
I’m excited to work with current members to meet and recruit women who are like-minded and like-hearted. I hope to help build on our incredible membership base to cement those relationships and thoughtfully grow our community of members.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining Impact100 Garden State?
It’s a fantastic chance to learn about the organizations making a difference in our area and to meet and build friendships with smart and kind women.
What is your professional and volunteer background?
I am retired from a career in systems development and project management in the financial services industry.
My volunteer work includes board service with Preschool Advantage, Lakeland Hills YMCA, Washington Association of NJ and Radio Catskill.
Prior to taking on the Membership Strategy role at Impact100 Garden State, I served on Grant Review teams for three years before moving to Grant Administration, where I served as a Grantee Liaison, Vice Chair, then chair of the Grant Administration Committee.
I have a BA from Colgate University, an MA from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Finance from NYU.
