EVERYDAY DISCRIMINATION: STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE BYSTANDER INTERVENTION

This is a Zoom gathering, hosted by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.

Time: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

This interactive virtual training explores the cognitive and psychological factors that influence bystander intervention in response to bias and discrimination. Through case studies and interactive media, participants will be introduced to and practice research-based strategies for responding to explicit bias, "everyday" or casual forms of bias, and bias expressed in digital environments.

This training will be hosted and conducted by the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights. Upon completion, you will receive a certificate. You can share this certification on your LinkedIn profile.

MANAGING ANXIETY

Discussions, exercises and tools anyone can use.

Anxiety is a normal human response to stress, and we can all benefit from stress-reducing techniques. Impact100 Garden State member Traci Blank, Clinical & Medical Support Hypnotherapy, Specializing in Anxiety, will lead members and their guests, including children, as they learn helpful tools to combat everyday stress.  Techniques include deep breathing, affirmations, and body scanning.
 
This informal interactive  event is for everyone from our young professionals to founding members and in between. Bring your family and friends.

FLOWER HOUR!

Tips for arranging beautiful fresh flowers, plus a creation of your own to take home. Fee: $25, due by April 23 (see "Get the Details").

Join fellow Impact100 Garden State member Brenda Liberti of Bee Lee Blooms for this hands-on event. Brenda will show participants how to arrange fresh flowers beautifully. Then it's your turn to make  an arrangement to take home. Perfect for springtime and Mother's Day! Refreshments will be served.

The cost is $25 per person (cost of the flowers). Payment must be made by April 23 to allow time to order the flowers. Payment can be made in one of two ways:

Sue's expertise lies in helping people look and feel confident effortlessly. Whether it's a casual outing or a professional setting, she's dedicated to bringing out the best in her clients.

STRAWBERRY MOON SOLSTICE HIKE

Open to friends and family!

Time: 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge (The Environmental Center).

This year the Summer Solstice falls on June 20th and the Strawberry Full Moon lands June 21st.

We thought it would be fun to schedule another full moon hike with our favorite Naturalist, Ben Barkley of the Somerset County Parks Division. Ben will lead us on a guided educational walk around Lord Stirling park in Somerset County.  

This event is open to Impact100 Garden State members and their guests (including men and children).

We are limited to 20 participants, so respond soon!

Special notes: We will be walking on dirt paths at dusk. Consider wearing hiking boots and bringing a flashlight. Last year, the path was a bit muddy.

We will reschedule if the weather is inclement.
